Pastor

St. Anne's Lutheran Church in London is an energetic Christian community in the midst of the commercial world of London's financial district. With English-speaking, Swahili-speaking and Amharic-speaking congregations, we come from many places and cultures but are united in our Christian faith, and our services bring together people from all around the world
The position of Pastor is highly rewarding and challenging. We are looking for an ordained Lutheran Pastor to further St Anne's as a place of love and worship in this City, to develop our great church music in the Lutheran tradition and to shepherd our diverse and vibrant congregation. The successful candidate will build on the foundations already laid at St. Anne's and will therefore demonstrate the following skills and characteristics:
- Ability to relate to and work with the "welcoming spirit" of the congregation. The successful candidate will be approachable and open with the congregation and willing to minister to their spiritual needs.
- Ability to communicate and share the Good News through thoughtful sermons
- Ability to work with and utilise the great cultural diversity at St. Anne's to further our mission
- Ability to encourage spiritual development through Bible study, fellowship, and outreach
- Desire to bring new ideas that enhance the mission of St. Anne's
- Willingness to support and encourage the musical tradition at St. Anne's
- Willingness to support and encourage the Youth work at St. Anne's
- Managerial skills that ensure Church staff are able to perform their roles efficiently
- Appreciation for the traditional Lutheran liturgy and music
- Ability to communicate at all levels with the congregation and with our neighbours
- A good listener
- Confident and clear English speaker
We are offering an annual salary of £25000. There is no provision for accommodation, relocation or pension.
